Why hybrid

Online alone isn’t enough.Weeks away aren’t necessary.

Online-only courses leave out the practice. Intensive trainings often mean several weeks in a row away from home. We take what works from both. The table shows typical features; individual providers may differ.

The learning app

The theoryfits in your pocket.

Spot the mistake

Tap the problem area in the picture and choose the correction. Then you see why it works.

Pose library

45 poses with alignment, common mistakes and the right correction for each.

Cue trainer

Say the cue, listen back, compare it with the original. That way the class sits before you ever stand in front of a group.

Lessons with the Evidence Light

For every statement you see whether it’s supported, tradition or refuted. You can also have every lesson read aloud to you.

Flashcards & spaced review

Swipe instead of cramming. Whatever you’re not sure of yet comes back automatically.

Module tests

You move on once a module sits. Anything you got wrong comes back automatically until you know it.

Practice log

For each class you note observations, mistakes you spotted and the teacher’s corrections. Your trainer confirms every entry.

  4. 4Hands-on

You only go as far as you need to. And when you do use your hands, you work with body weight rather than force: a few clear, simple grips.

02 · Grounded in science

Knowledge with a traffic light.

You learn what studies show, what is tradition and what you shouldn’t promise anyone.

03 · 38 °C

Learned in a real studio.

At 38 °C, in our two set classes: Essential (hatha vinyasa) and Flexibility (deep stretching, mobility). The structure, cueing and corrections you learn here carry over to any yoga class.

For real people in the room.

  • Modifications for pregnancy, back, disc problems, neck, knee, hip, shoulder
  • Breathwork: breath holds, the Wim Hof method, breath of fire, with clear safety rules
  • History from legend to the modern era
  • Business & social media

Even if you never teach

  • You notice your own compensations before anyone has to correct you.
  • You understand what breathing and 38 °C do in the body, and practise more consciously.
  • You can tell knowledge from myths and stop believing everything you read on Instagram.

FAQ

What you want to knowbefore you apply.

How long does the yoga teacher training take?

It’s designed to take three months, plus a one-month buffer for illness or travel. In total it covers 200 hours: 60 hours of theory in the app, 50 hours of classes, 40 hours of practice sessions with your trainer, 30 hours of observing and co-correcting, and 20 hours of teaching practice including your teaching exam.

Can I do the training alongside a job?

Yes, that’s how it’s built. You learn the theory in the app whenever it suits you – plan on 5 to 8 hours a week. For the practical part you come to the studio as often as you can, for example two or three times a week. We set the dates together. You don’t need to take weeks off.

Is this an online training?

Only the theory. You learn to teach in the studio, in seven stages: first your own practice, then practising corrections, observing, co-correcting and finally your own class, as often as it takes until it feels solid. You give your teaching exam on site, in front of real participants.

Is it worth it if I don’t want to teach?

Yes. Many people do the training for their own practice. Afterwards you understand why a pose is built the way it is, what breathing and heat do in the body, and where you tend to cheat. And if you decide to teach later on, you already have the certificate.

Do I need previous experience?

Around one year of regular practice is a good basis. You don’t need perfect poses. If you have less experience, just mention it in your application and we’ll work out together whether now is the right time to start.

How big are the groups?

Small. We only take on as many trainees as we can genuinely correct and support in the studio. That’s why there’s a personal conversation before you start.

Do I need to learn Sanskrit?

No. Every pose is called by the name you’ll use when you cue it in class.

What language is the training in?

English or German. The learning app is available in both languages, and the practical part in the studio can run in English or German.

I don’t speak German. Can I still take part?

Yes. The theory is fully available in English in the app, and your practice with the trainer can take place in English. Just mention it in your application, and we’ll go through how it works for you in our conversation.

Where does the training take place?

The practical part takes place at Warung Yoga, Marienbongard 24, 52062 Aachen, right by the Ponttor in the city centre. The theory is location-independent, in the app. That makes the training doable if you study at RWTH or live in Maastricht, Heerlen, Eupen or the Liège area: you only need to plan the practice dates in the studio.

Is the certificate recognised?

You receive the “Warung Yoga Teacher Training” certificate for 200 hours from our studio. In Germany, “yoga teacher” is not a legally protected title and there is no state exam. Prevention courses subsidised by German health insurers have their own requirements, and our certificate alone is usually not enough for those. If that matters to you, we’ll tell you honestly in our conversation whether the training fits your goal.

Can I teach without heat afterwards?

Yes. Class structure, cueing, the correction system and modifications apply to any yoga class. The sequences you learn are built for 38 °C; what you learn about heat is an extra.

What if my teaching exam doesn’t go well the first time?

Then you keep practising. You teach the class as often as it takes until it feels solid, within your training period. The teaching exam isn’t a one-off test day but the last step of your practical path.

Are the studio classes included?

Yes. During your training you can join all regular classes without a class pass or membership. Taking and observing classes is part of the training, after all.

Which certificate do I get?

The “Warung Yoga Teacher Training” certificate for a 200-hour yoga teacher training, printed and handed to you in person. Each certificate has a check code so it can be verified online at warungyoga.de. You receive it once you’ve taught and corrected your class and completed the theory with the final test.

Can I teach at Warung Yoga afterwards?

Strong graduates can start with us as cover teachers or with their own classes. There’s no guarantee, but you learn exactly the classes we teach.

When can I start?

After our conversation you receive the training agreement. Your training begins as soon as your deposit has arrived: we then unlock your learning app and set your start and practice dates.

How much does the training cost?

We discuss the price and payment options in a personal conversation after you apply; paying in instalments is possible. Included are the learning app, all regular studio classes during the training, the practice sessions, feedback on your logbook, the teaching exam and the certificate. Applying is free and doesn’t commit you to anything. Your deposit secures your place; only then do the training and your app access begin.
